The Nia Technique offers five levels of Training for personal growth and professional development.  The Trainings are delivered by a select group of Master Teachers known as  Nia Trainers.  Intensives are offered throughout the world, including Europe, Africa, Canada, Australia, Asia, China, and the United States.  A full listing of all the Trainings offered can be found at www.NiaNow.com.

Fashioned after the martial arts, each level is defined as White, Green, Blue, Brown, and Black. Each Belt level builds upon the prior training, adding skills and knowledge to deepen your practice further and enrich your life with intention.

The emphasis in the White Belt is studying the first 13 Principles of The Nia Technique which create the elegant foundation of the program.   Everyone, regardless of experience, starts at the first level, White Belt. No previous experience or training is required to attend. The aim of the White Belt is the introduction of The Body's Way, The Movement Forms (Martial Arts, Dance Arts, Healing Arts), Music Analysis, FreeDance, and an introduction to working with the Continuing Education material to become a Teacher.

Green Belt is a Teacher skill building training that is reserved for licensed teachers only.  Here teaching skills are honed to develop the precision and confidence of new Nia Teachers.  All other participants progress to Blue Belt after White Belt.

Blue Belt focuses on all aspects of communication and the intimacy skills needed to support body-mind-spirit teaching and living.  With the introduction of Nia's relationship model, communication improves, relationships deepen, and the knowledge of the work of Nia increases.  Generally there is a quantum leap in the power of a Nia Teacher to deliver a meaningful class after the Blue Belt.

Brown Belt centers on energy and its power to deepen and invigorate Nia movement.

The Black Belt intensive delves into multi-dimensional levels of mind-body-spirit awareness to stimulate creativity and healing. Each successive level is open to every "body", teacher or not. The Brown and Black Belt levels are offered by the founders, Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas, only.

The training program consists of a week long Intensive for each belt, and a minimum of one year of practice at that level before advancement. If you choose to become a Teacher, a Nia Teacher's license must be obtained.  Nia teachers are also required to complete annual continuing education and re-certification. Further information can be found on the Calendar of Events.
